Yesterday I went out for 30 minutes to Grimrthorpe Park with one of the Life Skills Co-ordinators.
Today I was due to see the Physiotherapist on the plinth but the physio came to see me because another resident is using the room and she thinks it is her office.

My Life being Disabled 25/06/08
Yesterday the call alarm was not working and the electricians were working on it all day but they didn't mend it. Last night the nurse had to use a baby alarm so if I wanted anything I had to shout unless I lost my voice !
This morning I told my nurse about the call alarm and she said the electricians were still working on it.

My Life being Disabled 23/06/08
This morning my wife phoned me to tell me my son was injured playing Rugby League for Dewsbury Rams. He had got 25 stitches around his mouth and he might be out for the rest of the season. This afternoon I went to the library where I changed my Dickie Bird autobiography to an biography of Don Revie.

My Life being Disabled 20/06/08
This morning I phoned Clark & Partners to find out why they hadn't delivered my powerchair this week becaause the person from PALS(Patient Advice and Liaison Service) said it would. They told me they havn't received the parts yet and didn't know when they were being delivered. I emailed PALS agained.
Also I had to put £10 on my mobile because with my O2 Pay and Go account if I top-up every month I get 500 minutes of free calls if I use it within my post code area. Being disabled and not getting out very much I tend to use my mobile in my home and with 500 minutes of free calls it is cheaper that having a normal phone.

My Life being Disabled 18/06/08
One of my son's bought me a book called 'Service Crew' for Father's Day. It is about holiganism at Leeds United. I've read the first few chapters and it appears the author has done her research but there are some obvious mistakes because I was a skinhead that followed Leeds United in the early seventies.
Yesterday three of the residents went out for a pub lunch. We went to the 'Marquis' in Rotherham . I had fish & chips with mushy peas for £5. Everbody enjoyed it because it was nice to go out.
Today I emailed the manager about the charges the Chropodist makes because the fees for cutting my toe nails have gone up to £19. My email read:
Having heard that the fees for the Chiropodist have increased to £19 can you tell me why I have to use a Chiropodist just to cut my toe nails ? At other Care homes, run by Exemplar, the nurses have cut my toenails. Also, £19 seems expensive.
