My Life being Disabled 26/03/13

On Friday 22/03 I we had problems with the power because it was snowing. I logged on at 11:00 but the mains keep getting interupted. This caused my Sky, phone, broadband and my computer to fail. It has taken 5 days to get back to normal. My computer doesn't work and I've email my brother to ask if he will buy another one.  I in Grimethorpe library using their Internet but it's very hot and I havn't taken any water.

Yesterday I logged off at 19:00, I put my feet up and watched television. At 21:00 I asked a carer could I go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 07:30 and watched television until 08:15 when I asked a carer could I get up. I asked if the carers would they cut my hair. After I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to see the manager because the dentist wants somebody to try his new chair but it was snowing. I saw to assistant manager and told her to I couldn't go out in the snow. I went my room and logged on at 11:00.

Yesterday I logged off at 18:30, I put my feet up and watched television. At 21:30 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 05:30 and watched television until 08:15 when I told a carer I was ready for my bladder wash. After I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered, changed my siphon bag and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had 2 Weetabix for breakfast. I went to my room and logged on 10:30. I sorted my top drawer and removed my small DVD player from my TV because it was faulty. I had Chicken Korma and rice for lunch. I went to my room and worked on my PC until 13:50 when I went to the training room. At 14:20 the Residents meeting started but it was only skills who gave a report. The meeting finished at 14:50 and I went to my room. I read my book 'Still Standing' by Paul O'Grady for a hour. I had a jacket potato, baked beans and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged at 19:00.

Yesterday I logged off at 18:30, I put my feet up and watched television. At 22:30 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
This morning at 05:00 I woke up and watched television until 08:15 when I asked a carer if I could get up. I cleaned my teeth, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to my room and started getting ready to the dentist because I've an appointment for 10:30. I went to the dentist at 10:15 and went into his room at 10:30. He checked my teeth, prescriped a bottle of mouthwash, a tube of toothpaste and said I should see the hygienist. His assistant said the hygienist was free and she scarped my bottom teeth. The assistant made another appointment to see the hygienist for 18/04/13 at 14:30. I went to the pharmacy to pick my toothpaste and mouthwash(the dentist said when it runs out come for another prescription). I went to Asda where I bought 2 Onion Bajhis, 2 Vegetable Samosas, 2 Vegetable Pakora, a box of thin, mint chocolates and a large mint Aero. I came home and unpacked my shopping. I had Mulligatawny soup for lunch. I went to my room and decided not to clean my teeth after lunch. I started to a movie when my eldest blow his horn on his new BMW. He came and stayed until 16:00. I had my own Lasagne and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth using my new toothpaste and mouthwash. I used the PC until 18:30 and logged off.

Yesterday I logged off at 19:30, I put my feet up and watched television. At 22:15 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 06:45 and watched television until 08:15 when I told a carer I was ready for my bladder wash. After I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to my room and logged on at 10:45. I ordered 2 wheelchair spaces, 2 carers, 1adult and a disabled parking space in the Coral stand for the match between Bradford and Salford on the 01/04 at 15:00. I phoned Pinderfield Hospital about an appointment on 07/05/13 at 14:00 to book transport. I gave the letter to the nurse to put it in the dairy. I had Gammon, chips and processed peas. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. At 13:30 I watched a movie until 15:45. I had sausages, chips, tomatoes and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged off at 18:30.

Yesterday I logged off at 17:30 because my bowels had opened. I told the carers who changed my pad but my sling was dirty and I stay in bed.
This morning I woke up at 04:00 and watched television until 08:15 when I asked the carers if I could get up. I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining and had 2 Weetabix for breakfast. I went to my room and logged on at 10:30. Skills asked me if I wanted to Cortonwood at 11:00 instead of 14:00. I said I wasn't bothered but the carers are busy. He said he'll ask the nurse. I was informed that my phyciocolgist was here to see me. The nurse took me into thequiet lounge where 2 phycologists interviewed me for 20 minutes. They said one of them will be coming back. At 11:30 we went to Aldi at Wath on Dearne, Asda Living at Cortonwood, Matanlan and to Morrisons. We went home and unpacked my shopping. At 14:30 I went to the dining room and had 2 Vegetable Samosas for lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. At 16:25 I got my Chilli con Carne with rice and went to the dining room. I had my Chilli con Carne with rice and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged off at 19:30.

Yesterday I logged off at 19:00, I put my feet up and watched television. At 21:30 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 06:00 and watched television until 08:15 when I asked a carer if I could get up. I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had 2 rashers of Bacon, 2 sausages, 2 fried eggs and some baked beans for breakfast. I went  to my room and logged on at 11:00. I had Mulligatawny soup for lunch. I went to room, cleaned my teeth, sent an email to the manager informing her that John Curry, Michael Dugher MP, secretary will be contacting her to find a suitable date that Michael can come here. I sent an email Grimethorpe Surgery about pain relief.At 15:00 I listened to Bradford beat Hull KR 34 - 12. I had Chicken Nawab Khana and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged off at 19:30.

My Life being Disabled 16/03/13

Yesterday I logged t 15:00 because my bowels had opened and I wanted to get changed because at 18:00 a taxi from Alpa is coming to take me to the AGM of the Barnsley East CLP at West Bank House in Hoyland which is the HQ of Michael Dugher MP. The carers chnaged my pad, trousers, shirt and shoes. I went to the dining room at 16:25  where I had Tomato soup and ice crea for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and went downstairs to wait for the taxi at 17:55. It came at 18:05 and we arrived at 18:35 but the meeting was scheduled to start at 19:00. We were shown into the meeting and I positioned my wheelchair on the 1st row. By 19:00 there were about 20 members and the meeting finished at 19:30. Everybody who was going to the Elachi restaurant stayed behind to get directions. It was 500 yards down the road and I completed at 20:00. There were more people here than at the AGM. We didn't received our Chappattis and pickles until 20:30 after Michael Dugher and his guest Dave Watts MP for St Helen's North made a speech. We didn't received our starter which was a sausage, 2 Chicken wings, a Chicken leg and salad until 21:30. I chose my main course of Chicken Jalfrezi and finished it all 22:45. People started going home and at 23:05 my carer went to see where our taxi was. He was outside, we put our coats on and went outside to get in our taxi. We arrived home at 23:30, I went to my room and at 00:30 I asked the carers if I could go to bed.
This morning I woke at 05:30 and watched television until 08:15 when I called the nurse came to give me a bladder wash. After the carers changed my leg bag to a siphon bag, I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to my room and decided to go to Asda. I asked a carer to put my fleece, hat, scarf and gloves on. I went to Asda where I bought 3 packets of Indian snacks, a box of thin chocolates mints, a big bar of Aero and a bottle of  chewable Vitamin C pills. I went to my room, unpacked my shopping and logged on at 11:00. I had Liver, Bacon, mashed potatoes, Brussel sproats and carrots for lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. I spent most of the afternoon tiding my room because the leads to my TV and PC were not connected properly. I had fish fingers, baked beans and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged off at 19:00.

Last night I logged off at 19:30, I put my feet up and watched television. At 21:30 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 02:30 and watched television until 08:15 when I asked a carer if I could get up. I asked them if they would cut my hair. After I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I told the carers I wanted to get changed in the afternoon before tea time because I'm going to the East Barnsley Labour party AGM at their headquarters in Hoyland at 19:00 with a taxi from Alpha at Barnsley. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to my room and logged on at 10:30. I had fried fish, chips and mushy peas for lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. At 13:30 I went to the training room and had a lesson on Basic Food Handling which lasted until 15:00. I went to my room and logged off at 15:30.

Yesterday I logged off at 18:00, I put my feet up and watched television. At 22:00 I asked a carer if I can go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 05:00 and watched television until 08:15 when I called the nurse came to wash my bladder out. After I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered, changed my siphon bag and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to my room and set my Radio up because last night one of the carers had pulled the power lead out which serves my PC and Radio/CD player. I went down to see the manager about if Michael Dugher MP wants to visit here is it OK. She said yes and I went upstairs via the lift. I went to my room and logged on at 11:30. I had Corned Beef hash and 2 Yorkshire puddings for lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. At 13:45 I went to the training room where the staff/residents were putting a show on for all the residents. It lasted nearly 2 hours with turns from the 4 units, the domestics, the physios and skills with the catering. I went to my room and went to the dining room at 16:25. I had Mulligatawny soup and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged out at 19:30.

Yesterday I logged at 19:30 because I was experiencing problems on my laptop. I put my legs up and watched television. At 21:30 I asked a carer could I go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 05:00 and watched television until 08:15 when I asked a carer could I get up. I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. After I went to my room and decided to go to Asda. I went to Asda, bought 2 Onion Bajhas, 2 Vegetable Samosas, 2 Vegetable Pakoras, a Chicken Vindaloo, a bottle of Balsam, a can of Deodorant, a bottle shower gel and an big Aero. I came home and unpacked my shopping. I had Mulligatawny soup for lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. At 13:50 I went to the training room to watch/listen to Double Tee a Karekoe act. They went on until 15:45 and I went to my room. At 16:25 I took my Vindaloo and Naan bread out to give it to a carer. I went to the dining room, had my Vindaloo, Naan bread and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged at 18:00.

Yesterday I logged off at 18:00, I put my feet up and watched television. At 22:00 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 07:00 and watched television until 08:15 when the nurse came to give me a bladder wash. After I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered, changed my siphon bag and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to my room and logged on at 10:30. At 11:00 the physio;s assistant came to ask me if I wanted to stretch my right hand under hot water. We went to their room and stretch my right hand under hot water for 15 minutes. I went to my room and a carer came to ask about making a CD. I had Mulligatawny soup for lunch. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth, watched the television and I thought my bowels had opened. I told a carer who examined me but they hadn't. At 15:00 I went to the Therapy kitchen to make my version Nawab Khana. It me and Julie from Skills until 16:30. I went to the dining room and ate it with Naan bread plus ice cream. I went to my room, cleaned my  teeth and logged off at 19:30.

This morning I woke up at 07:00 and watched television until 08:15 when I asked the nurse if I could get up. I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to my room and logged on at 11:00. I had Cumberland sausage, chips and peas for lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. At 14:15 I started to watch a movie. At 16:00 I tried to get a copy of my Birth Certificate. I had Mulligatawny soup and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged off at 18:00.

Yesterday I logged off at 18:30, I put my feet up and watched television. At 21:30 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 07:00 and watched television until 08:15 when I asked a carer if I could get up. I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had 2 sausages, 2 rasher of bacon, 2 fried eggs and some baked beans. After I went my room and logged on 09:30. I decided to go to Asda where I bought 2 Onion Bajhis, 2 Vegetable Samosas, 4 Vegetable Pakodra, 4 mini Corrinda & Garlic Naans, a tin of Stag Chilli con Carne, a big bar of Aero, a box of thin Chocolates, a bottle of Cough medicine, a bottle of shower gel and a can of deodorant. I came home and unpacked shopping. I had Mulligatawny soup and 2 mini Naans at lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. I worked on my computer until 14:30 and I watched movie. I had Chilli con Carne, mushy peas, 2 mini Naans and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, clean my teeth, tried sorting my computer, emailed Stevo with the latest at Shaw Cross and logged off at 20:30.

My Life being Disabled 09/03/13

Yesterday afternoon I logged off at 15:00 to get ready to go to Widnes. I went to the dining room and 2 vegetable Samosas. I was informed that Skills were setting off 16:30. We set off and suggested to go through Huddersfield to avoid the M62. We arrived at 19:30 because the motorways were busy. I had booked a parking space in the Disabled car park near to the Disabled entrance. It was cold and wet but when we(2 wheelchair users and 2 carers) found the away section for Disabled/Wheelchair users was full. I asked a steward if we could go in the home section for Wheelchair users and he said it was O.K.. There were only 2 Wheelchair users in and it was covered unlike the away section. When got in one of the Widnes supporters told us that we shouldn't be in the section and she reminded us every 5 minutes. Our carers sat behind us one step higher than us. I have been here before and there was a viewing platform but this is now boxes. Our carers went for tea/coffee at half time and all of us had plenty of to drink it before the second half. The Widnes spectators were a bit abusive but when their team came back into the game their attitude changed. At the end my colleague had to get changes with both carers taking him to the Disabled toilets and left me in the Wheelchair home section but the stewards let wheelchair users go out before able bodied spectators can get out. The chief steward went took me to stand near the Disabled toilets while my colleague got changed. We went to our adapted minibus and didn't encounter any traffic. We set off at 22:00 but didn't get home until 01:30 due to the M62 being closed. I had a cup of coffee, some Aero and a chocolate biscuit. At 02:15 I asked a carer if I could to bed.
This morning I woke up 08:25 because I didn't set my alarm and I told a carer to tell the nurse I was ready for my bladder wash. After I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered, changed my leg bag to a siphon bag and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to my room and logged on at 10:30. I had Mulligatawny soup for lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. At 14:30 I had 2 Onion Bajhis and a cup of coffee. I went to dining and had Chicken Jalfrezi, Pilau Rice and an ice cream. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged off at 18:30.

This morning I woke up at 05:00 and watched television until 08:15 when I asked a carer if I could getup. I asked the carers if they would cut my hair. After I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had Weetabix, 2 sausages, 2 rashers of bacon, 2 fried eggs and some baked beans. I went to my room and logged on at 11:00. I had fried fish, chips and mushy peas for lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. At 14:00 my bowels opened and I told the carers who changed my pad, put my thermals on and a Coruna tee shirt ready to go to Widnes at 16:00. I logged off at 15:00.

Yesterday I logged off at 19:00 I put my feet up and watched television. At 21:15 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 07:30 and watched television until 08:15 when I told a carer I was ready for my bladder wash. After I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered, changed my siphon bag and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. After I went to Asda where I bought a Chicken Jalfrezi with Pilau rice, 2 vegetable Samosas, 2 vegetable Pakoras and a tin of Mulligatawny soup. I came home unpacked shopping and logged at 11:30. I had my own Bolognese Pasta for lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. At 13:15 a physio's assistant came for me and took me into the Therapy kitchen where Heather and the assessor would watched me chopped Onion up plus make a Pita bread sandwich containing Ham, Cheese and Tomatoes. I finished at 14:00 and went to the dining room to eat it. I went to my room and started to watch a movie. I had a bacon and egg sandwich followed by ice cream. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged at 18:30.

Yesterday I logged out at 18:30, I put my feet up and watched television. At 21:30 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 05:00 and watched television until 08:15 when I asked a carer if I could get up. I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to my room and booked a taxi from Alpha on 15/03/13 at 18:00 to take me to West Bank House, Hoyland returning at 23:00 from Elachi restaurant, Hoyland to Dearnevale. I checked in the Skills book that I want to go to Aldi and Cortonwood, to go to Eastmoor ARL on 25/05/13 at 14:30 and to Shaw Cross ARL on 08/06/13 at 13:00. I logged at 12:00 and went to the dining room at 12:25. I had Cornish Pastie, mashed potatoes, baby carrots and cabbage for lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. At 14:00 I went to Asda where I bought a bottle of shower gel, 2 cans of deodorant and a box of thin chocolate mints.  At 15:30 the physio's assistant asked me if wanted my right arm stretching under hot water. We went to their room and worked on my right arm for 15 minutes. I went to my room and read my book. I had Mulligatawny soup and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged off at 19:00.

Yesterday I logged off at 18:30, I put my feet and watched television. At 21:30 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 07:00 and watched television until 08:15when I told a carer I was ready for my bladder wash. After I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered, changed my siphon bag and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to my room, sorted my cheque from the NHS and logged on at 11:30. I received the tickets for Widnes from Bradford Bulls. I told Skills but he told me to see Adele. I had Sirloin Steak, fancy chips, Onion rings, processed peas, tomatoes and mushrooms for lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. I opened 2 letters 1 from the CLP inviting me to the AGM and 1 from Mobility. The Labour Party gave the date of 15/03/13 at 19:00 in West Bank House, Hoyland. After Michael Dugher MP for Barnsley  and Dave Watts MP chair of the Parlimentary Labour Party are inviting attendees to a social evening in Elachi restaurant. I went to Skills to ask if I could to the CLP AGM on 15/03/13 at 19:00 followed by the social evening and to get £20 for buying a wheelchair users space at Widnes on 08/03/13 at 20:00. I saw a Skills but he couldn't handle money and he couldn't decided if I could go to the CLP AGM. I went to see the manager and explained that I must tell Michael Dugher whether or not I'm going. She told me to tell Skills to bring their diary to see her. About 30 minutes later Skills came tell me I can have a carer but I must organise a taxi. The Chiropodist came to cut my finger and toe nail. I had my own Mulligatawny soup and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged out at 19:00.

Yesterday I logged off at 18:00, I put my feet up and watched television. At 21:30 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 08:00 and watched television until 08:15 when I asked va carer if I culd get up. I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to my room and decided to go to Asda. I bought a Chicken Jalfrezi and Pilau rice, 2 Onion Bahjas, 2 Vegetable Samosas, 2 Vegetable Pakoras, bottle of shower gel and 2 Aeros. I came home, unpacked my shopping and had a Vegetable Pakoras with a cup of coffee. I had Tomato soup for lunch.
 I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. I phoned Widnes Supporters Disability Liaison officer and booked a parking space for Friday. I emailed my brother to invite him to The Cinnamon Lounge on 27/03/13 at 18:00 but he was going to Dubai that week for the horse racing. I ordered a new Bradford away shirt from The Bulls Shop. I asked Skills if they could take me to Eastmoor to watch Eastmoor play Shaw Cross on 25/05/13 at 14:30. I had my own Chicken Jalfrezi, Pilau Rice and Ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged off at 18:30.

Yesterday I logged off at 18:30 I put my feet up and watched television. I watched Widnes beat Hull FC 36 - 16. At 21:30 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
This morning I woke up at 04:00 and watched television until 08:15 when 2 nurses came to change my catheter. After I cleaned my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had 2 sausages, 2 rashers of bacon, 2 fried eggs and some baked beans. I went to my room and logged at 11:00. J had Mulligatawny soup and 2 mini Naans for my lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. At 15:00 I listened to Huddersfield play Bradford on Radio Leeds. I had my own Chilli con Carne, 2 mini Naans and ice cream for tea. I went to my room, cleaned my teeth and logged off at 18:00.

My Life being Disabled 02/03/13

On Thursday I logged off at 18:30, I put my feet up and watched television. At 21:30 I asked a carer if I could go to bed.
On Friday I woke up at 04:00 and watched television until 7:00 when I asked a carer if I could get up. I asked them if they would cut my hair After I cleaned, shaved, showered and got dressed. At 09:00 I went to the dining room and had 2 rashers of Bacon 2 fried Eggs and baked Beans because we're going to The Trafford Centre later. At 10:20 a carer came to tell me the driver ready. Another resident was going and we were put on our Ford Transit adopted minibus. We set off at 10:30 and went through The Snake Pass A57 between Sheffield and Manchester. We arrived at 11:50 and parked outside John Lewsis. We entered in John Lewsis but didn't buy anything. We headed towards The Orient where I had large Haddock mushy peas and a cup of tea. At 14:00 we went shopping in Superdrug where I bought a big bottle of Aftersun and a bottle of After Shave. In the last shop Debanhams I bought 3 summer shirts a Wallet and 4 Coasters. We headed back to the minibus and it was 16:00 when set off but the traffic was very busy. I had agreed that I could go to Morrisons and went to Barnsley one arriving at 18:00. I bought 4 bottles of water, 5 boxes of Fisherman's Friends, 5 packets of Polo's sugar free, 15 packets of Halls, 2 tubes of Sterodent and 2 tubes of Fixadent. We arrived at Dearnevale at 19:00 and I ordered a Bolognese Pizza. I went my room, put my feet up and watched the television My Pizza came at 19:30 and at 20:00 I watched St. Helen's lose to Leeds 4 - 38. I woke up at 22:20 and asked a carer if I could to bed.
This morning I woke up at 04:00 and watched television until 08:15 when I told a carer that I was ready for my bladder wash. After I cleaned my teeth, shaved showered, changed my leg bag to a siphon bag and got dressed. I went to the dining room and had breakfast. I went to my room and tried sorting my shopping out. I did all shopping from Morrison's and Superdrug but my shopping from Debenham's the carers took it away to put 'buttons' on. I logged on at 11:30 and went to dining room at 12:30. I had Mulligatawny soup for lunch. I went to my room and cleaned my teeth. At 14:30 I started a movie but the nurse forgot to give me my antibotics.
